An HTML editor is a software program that makes creating a web page nearly as easy as typing a memo using a word processor. Instead of learning HTML commands, users can format web pages using a menu. HTML editing tools support bullets, tables, paragraph alignment, font size, font color, indenting, and other common formatting features. Many HTML editor packages display the page being edited exactly the same way it will be displayed on the web - a feature called WYSIWYG, or what you see is what you get
We will be using a very simple editor. It is part of a browser suite known as SeaMonkey (previously know as Mozilla). You may access SeaMonkey through Citrix (for directions go to CITRIX AT HOME DIRECTIONS). You will find it in the applications folder. Although the SeaMokey suite has many capabilities, we have installed only the required navigator and Composer (web site creation software).
To access Composer, pull down the WINDOW menu and select Composer. For more instructions, pull down the HELP menu and select Help Contents. Select Creating Web Pages. Step-by-step instructions are available on these help pages.
Any work you do should be saved in an organized folder on your H (Hamilton) drive. This will allow you access at home and at school.
